About Margaret
Margaret Bell is a health coach who specialises in Emotional Eating and is the author of True Taste. At the time of working with us, she was building her health coaching business around a full time job working in the NHS.
Food has always been a pleasure and a curse for Margaret. As a teenager she was bullied for being the wrong size, as an adult she turned to food for comfort when she moved from Liverpool to Newcastle, and again to comfort her after her Dad died.
When her marriage was failing and she was made redundant she hit rock bottom and turned to food as her salvation. Her entire life has been centred around overeating, dieting, overeating, dieting and so on, but she knew it had to stop.
From working on her own relationship with food and discovering the triggers that cause her to seek emotional comfort in food, she realised that many more women needed to experience the power of going within, addressing the root cause of the issue and re-educating them about food.
And so Naturally Empowered Health was born.
Margaret’s mission is to help hard working, stressed professionals overcome their eating issues in a healthy, supportive environment that will teach them that they no longer need to diet – that food can be fun and enjoyable.
Margaret appointed PR with Perkes to help her raise her profile and put Emotional Eating on the map. She wanted to share her story to inspire others to look at their own eating habits and realise their unhealthy relationship with food and the behaviour patterns and cycles that are constantly ending in self-sabotage.
Strategy
To position Margaret as an expert in Emotional Eating within publications that are read by her target market of busy women. This included a mixture of business focussed titles and mainstream health titles.
Final Result
Coverage was secured in several key publications that elevated Margaret’s expertise and explained what emotional eating is, the signs to look out for and how to overcome it.
Pieces were published in:
- Yellow Eve magazine – online
- WeAreTheCity – online
- Health & Wellbeing – print
- Wellbeing Radio – online article
- UnTamed Soul – print
- Wellbeing Magazine – online
During our time working together, we were also able to collaborate with Mattress Next Day, who were looking to partner with a nutritional coach to provide tips on how to have a better night sleep. Margaret was able to provide information on the foods that people should eat to enhance their quality of sleep.
As a result of the PR coverage secured Margaret had more people requesting to join her free Facebook group who have since gone on to buy her True Taste Book or work with her in a group training capacity.
She also decided to take the leap and leave her full time job so that she can focus her attention on helping more women rewrite their story, change their eating patterns, overcome their triggers and love who they are and the body that they’re in.
